Chris “Tingly Legs” Matthews fails miserably on Jeopardy!

MSNBC’s Chris “Tingly Legs” Matthews appeared on Jeopardy! the other night in a “Power Player’s” version of the show. Matthews, who has been a leading figure in pushing the “Sarah Palin is Stupid” narrative, has on at least four different occassions, wondered how she’d do on the show. In one example, on January 10, 2010, he said, “I read her book — it’s full of that crap….It’s unbelievable how little this woman knows!…Don’t put her on Jeopardy!

So how did the superior brainiac measure up himself? Well, let’s just say for the category, “6-Letter World Capitols,” Matthews came up with Istanbul. Um . . . one two three four five six . . . seven . . . eight, yeah, Istanbul is not 6-letters.

Obama’s 1991 literary agents list his birthplace as Kenya – interesting.

There’s an interesting story today over at Bigjournalism.com concerning our illustrious president Obama. The Brietbart staff has committed themselves to vetting the president, since virtually no vetting occured during the run up to his election. All of his records and transcripts have been sealed, we’ve recently discovered his girlfriend was made up in his book, he’s back and forth on various policy, and basically, everything about this president and his past has been shrouded in mystery and constantly seems to change. So, during the vetting process with Brietbart’s staff, they found this interesting little bit.

“Family Guy” bashes Tea Party. (Get over it, they bash everyone)

Today, The Blaze ran a story about a recent Family Guy episode that was making fun of the Tea Party. In the episode, Peter joins the Tea Party because he’s fed up with the government, but the end result is that the Tea Party wants NO government and the town ends up turning to anarchy. To top it off, there are neo-nazi’s running around looking for Jews, and the episode shows the standard racist depiction of Tea Party members and gives an over the top, hyperbolic version of what would happen if the Tea Party got everything they wanted.

Message to Washington . . . to be determined

Tomorrow is primary day and there are a couple of very interesting races in Indiana. The Lugar/Mourdock race is a big one that’s gained tons of media attention. A slightly smaller race, but with the same message behind it, is the Bucshon/Risk race in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District. And I’ve been thinking a lot about the repercussions of how these races turn out and what the message will be we send to Washington.

Why Rep. Bucshon is 4 days from losing.

Four days from now, Indiana will hold it’s primary election. As I travel through the 8th district, I get the very distinct impression that Kristi Risk, challenger for the 8th Congressional seat, is in the lead. The amount of signs plastering the area is overwhelming, compared to almost no signs for current Representative, Larry Bucshon. I’ve been to town-halls and various events with both candidates, and the turn-out for Kristi’s events, even at it’s lowest, is still more than Bucshon’s.

Fun times with #Julia

Barack Obama’s campaign has released a slideshow about “Julia,” a fictitious woman meant to demonstrate how Obama’s policies will help her, while Romney’s policies will hurt her. This slideshow follows Julia’s life, starting at age 3 when she’s enrolled in the headstart program, ending at age 67 when she retires and starts collecting Social Security. At age 22, Julia has to have surgery, but everything is great because she’s on her parents insurance. At age 27 . . . okay, I have to give you age 27 word for word, because it’s funny.

Bucshon vs. Risk – a year of work on 1 page of links!

For those of you just starting your election research, welcome. The primary is just a few days away, and for those of you in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District, wondering about this Larry Bucshon / Kristi Risk thing, and who the right candidate is, I just wanted to give you a rundown of what we’ve covered since Bucshon has taken office. If you type in “Bucshon” in the search window, you’ll get lots, and lots, and lots of results. But I decided to go ahead and link to the more prominent posts we’ve had and leave out the video’s, podcasts, and smaller posts in which Bucshon or Kristi were simply secondary characters.

Pragmatism vs. Ideology – Bucshon vs. Risk

With less than a week until Indiana’s primary election, the races have certainly shot into the final phase – the sprint for the finish line. And what I’m seeing in the 8th Congressional District race are two labels rising to the top, both coming from  Bucshon campaign. He labels himself as a “Pragmatic Conservative,” and his opponent Kristi Risk as an “ideologue.”

The Ludicrosity in Afghanistan

Did anyone watch the president’s speech from Afghanistan last night? My main concern is the fact that this president can leave me with my jaw on the floor every . . . single . . . time he speaks. How is that even possible? How can I still be so floored? After demonstrating willfull ignorance, naivete, and telling downright lies, how is it possible that he can still leave me wondering what in the world just happened?
