You’ve probably heard by now that in November, San Francisco will be voting to ban circumcision. You may have also heard of Matthew Hess, the man behind the initiative. There’s been a lot of talk about Hess’s comic book “Foreskin Man” that is being called nothing more than anti-semitic propaganda. I have to admit, when I heard there was a comic book about circumcision, I thought, okay, no one is going to read that, and I didn’t take it very seriously. However, after looking at the pages and seeing what’s in it, I am shocked. We have to take this seriously! It’s just sick and, regardless of how one feels about the medical aspects of circumcision, no parent should want his or her child getting a hold of this piece of junk. Lately, we’ve been citing several examples of attacks on religion, and this comic is obviously another. And since the comic writer is also the initiative writer, I hope the people of San Francisco are smart enough to see what’s going on here and don’t actually vote in favor of this nonsense.
Glenn Beck had a piece about this on his show Monday night, and he read some of the pages from “Foreskin Man.” I don’t care what you’ve heard or how you feel about Beck; you need to watch this. I found my jaw dropping in shock as I saw what was in the book. Take a look.

Just because they seem to be supporting a cause you’re passionate about doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to associate with a gang of Jew haters.
I notice you didn’t mention what women who got cervical cancer because their partners weren’t circumcised think. Do you think they oppose circumcision too?
As a Jew I find your insinuation that all or even a significant percentage of us oppose circumcision offensive.
I’m willing to believe there are some Jews who do, but if you’re going to use them as an authority without mentioning how vanishingly small their numbers are you’re slipping mighty close to propagandizing (trying to convince others of a political position using falsehoods).
As it happens I was discussing this very topic with my main Talmudic mentor and questioning why the foreskin had to be the symbol of our covenant.
Personally I think it sucks, and if given a choice as an adult I may well have refused, but if you think I’m going to sit still while a bunch of neo Nazi anti Semites try to make the Brit Mila a federal offence you’ve got another thing coming.

English Bob, with all due respect, considering that Matthew Hess, the creator of Foreskin Mann, is also the one behind the legislation banning, I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that many Jews find this funny.
Greg, I an neither male nor Jew, so you may have more insight than I do. I am sorry that you feel mutilated. I am also not a physician. However, according to the studies I’ve researched, not all doctors oppose it. Studies show there are many medical benefits of circumcision, including the prevention of infection and STDs. Addditionally, some physicians believe it may aid in the prevention of cervical cancer in female sexual partners.
